Paris Aspen Arin
Paris Aspen Arin is an author, businesswoman, musician, pianist, and story-innovator whose work is tied to her simple fascination with memory: keep the stories we create keep on living.
A classically trained pianist since the young age of two, Arin has performed across the country with major symphonies, including the St. Louis Symphony, and at some of the world's most celebrated venues, including Jazz at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall, where she has performed six times. In 2016, she was selected as a Music and Peace Ambassador for the Harmony for Peace Foundation, a role she continues to hold today. For the past decade, she has used her love of music to share a message of hope that lies in the hearts of all who listen to the performances.
Arin expanded her musical palette when she began writing her own music, venturing into pop and collaborating with Grammy-winning producers and artists, including Jonathan Keith and Jo Mersa Marley. Her songwriting spans everything from moody, introspective pieces to bouncy, vibrant, energetic beats. She also worked alongside an award-winning producer on her original story, The Love Theory, a musical romantic comedy about Cupid's children saving Valentine's Day before society forgets what it really means to love someone.
Her work extends far beyond the music as well. Arin has been writing since childhood, allowing her to publish her first book, Sonatina in the Woods — a tale of a lovable poodle helping Smokey the Bear save the forest from fires — at twelve. The beloved children's book was sold at National Park retail bookstores. Today, the same poodle returns in Lacuna: Unwritten Past, a children's graphic novel series that follows her and her Yorkshire Terrier cousin as they uncover the histories left behind.
Arin is currently developing several other works across various genres and audiences. These include a young adult fantasy series, Veil Academy — where the Salem Witch Trials meet Pretty Little Liars — an adult thriller, Böcek — a mobster story in a society of insect people — and an adult adventure, For Old Times' Sake — a timeless shadow monster's journey of learning to live with regret. Not only that, she regularly publishes essays and other articles on her Substack and her personal publication, Paper Elephant, a space dedicated to ideas and curiosities that deserve to be heard.
Arin double-majored in English and Film at Fordham University before earning her Master's degree in English Literature from the same university. She has conducted research at the University of Oxford on women in William Shakespeare's works and further explored filmmaking techniques at Columbia University. Her scholarly interests span the usage of memory in self-discovery, digital culture in the age of surveillance, and the increasingly complicated relationship between technology and human experience. One of her larger research projects, Longing, is an interactive guide exploring the bittersweet experience of the “long” through the lens of autofiction, examining the strange space between what we remembered, what happened, and what that means.
And now, Arin is taking her fascination with preserving memories across various locations into her new photo business venture. Through her photobooth business, she continues to create ways for individuals to capture moments they never want to forget while living in the moment. Her work has already appeared at major destinations including the National Aquarium in Baltimore, Edge NYC, One World Observatory, and the California Academy of Sciences, with more locations on the horizon.
